Detailed Itinerary
Day
1
: Nairobi
–
You will be picked in the morning by our driver guide from the airport upon
arrival and after greetings and introductions start your memorable city tour.
You visit some of the historical sites in Nairobi town such as old parliament
buildings, bomb blast site, first Kenyan president mausoleum, Uhuru park
heroes’ site and government offices. Then head off to lunch at the
amazing Kenya National Museum and get a taste of local cuisine before diving
into old cultures, history and well preserved artifacts. You are later
dropped in your hotel. Overnight stay at the Nairobi Best Western Plus Meridian
hotel (BB).
Day
2
: Nairobi
– After morning breakfast visit a
Kiambu
coffee farm
and factory and see how coffee is harvested, processed and
packed. You will have a chance to taste a sweet cup of Kenyan coffee which is a
thrilling experience. In the afternoon after lunch visit the
Bomas of Kenya
for exciting traditional
songs and dances. (Optional dinner at Carnivore Restaurant). Overnight at Nairobi Best Western Plus Meridian hotel (BB).
Day 3:
Nairobi /Nyeri
–After
early morning breakfast check out from the hotel and head towards Nyeri in the green
Central highlands of Kenya. Have a stopover at the Karatina Market which is
biggest in East Africa and see how the local communities trade with foods and
commodities. You arrive in Nyeri town along the Aberdare ranges for lunch. Later
visit the
Lord Baden Powell
site and
grave side. Baden Powell from England is the world famous founder of the
Scouting Movement in
1907
and
started the same in Kenya in 1910. Dinner and overnight at the Green Hills
hotel (HB).
Day 4:
Nyeri
– After an early
morning breakfast drive towards the tea farms along the Aberdare ranges which
are the
(longest ranges in Africa)
. You join the
local farmers in their farms and participate in tea harvesting. In the
afternoon take your harvested leaves to the tea buying centre. Later join a
local family, learn about their lives and enjoy their mouthwatering traditional
foods, a most memorable lifetime experience. Dinner and overnight at the Green
Hills hotel. (HB)
Day 5:
Nyeri
/Nanyuki
–After morning breakfast check out from the hotel and
heads towards Nanyuki at the foot of the breathtaking Mt Kenya,
the second tallest mountain in Africa and UN world heritage
site
. You then visit a women self-help project in Nanyuki, a women group
project where hand-made beading work is done, bee keeping and aloe vera growing
and processing. You will have time with the women and can learn or volunteer
your expertise service to the group. Later leave and on the way have a stopover
at the Equator, which is an imaginary line that divides the world into two and
an iconic place for photo taking. Dinner and overnight at Sportsman Arms hotel
(HB).
Day 6:
Nyeri /Samburu
–After
morning breakfast check out from the hotel and heads towards the most famous
Samburu game park where the local Samburu community co –exist friendly together
with the wild animals. You arrive in the afternoon and check in your hotel and
relax. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sentrim camp (FB).
Day 7:
Samburu
–After
morning breakfast take packed lunch and spend time with the Samburu villages that
are popular for keeping many long horned cattle and goats.
You witness their rich culture and heritages together
with the traditional songs and dances which they have maintained for centuries.
Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sentrim camp (FB).
Day 8:
Samburu /Nairobi
–After
morning breakfast check out from the hotel and heads back towards Nairobi. On
the way enjoy great plantations of coffee, bananas and pineapples. Arrive in
the afternoon and have time to check in your room and relax. Overnight at Nairobi Best Western Plus Meridian hotel (BB).
Day 9:
Nairobi
–
After breakfast depending with your flight timings can visit the Nairobi famous
shopping malls and city markets and purchase your souvenirs and gifts to take
back home. Later you are picked by the driver guide and dropped at the Jomo
Kenyatta Airport for your safe flight back home.
